In short
What is an AI voice agent?
An AI voice agent is software that holds a real phone conversation: it listens, understands what the person said, decides what to say or do next, and speaks back in a natural voice, quickly enough to feel like a conversation. Unlike an IVR menu, it follows a goal (qualify a lead, screen an applicant, book a visit) rather than a fixed script. Revvox sells finished AI voice agents for sales, hiring and support, so a team can go live without building one.
How it works
What happens on one call.
From the form to your CRM.
Every AI voice agent runs the same loop: speech recognition turns the caller's words into text, a language model decides the next step from your instructions and the conversation so far, and a voice engine speaks the reply. The difference between a demo and a working agent is everything around that loop: when it is allowed to call, what it does when nobody picks up, how it knows a voicemail from a person, what it is allowed to promise, and where the result goes afterwards.
Revvox handles that part for you. A new lead or applicant arrives from a form, Vira calls within minutes inside your calling hours, asks your questions in order, checks each answer against your rules and ends the call with a next step: a booked visit, an interview slot, a callback or a polite close. The transcript, the answers and the reason for the result land on one record and go to your CRM as a signed webhook.

Inside the product
Every call, checked.
Real screens, sample data.
A voice agent you cannot audit is a risk. Every call keeps its transcript beside the answers read from it, so anyone on your team can check why a lead was marked hot or an applicant marked Check before acting on it.
The questions asked, the answers given.
The call audit lists each of your questions, whether it was answered and what the answer was, quoted from the transcript.
- Scores from your rules, not a black box
- Voicemail detected before the agent speaks

Build or buy
Developer platform or finished agent?
Both are good choices, for different teams.
Platforms such as Vapi, Retell, Bland and Synthflow let developers build any voice agent and bill per minute. Finished agents do one job end to end. This table is how we would choose.
| Developer platform | Finished agent (Revvox) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who sets it up | Your developers: prompts, tools, telephony, retries, webhooks | Your team, in the app: the job, the language, the voice |
| Billing | Per minute, plus model and telephony bills on some plans | Per lead, applicant or chat on a monthly plan from $59 a month |
| Calling rules | You build hours, retries and opt-out | Hours, retries, consent and opt-out enforced before every dial |
| Scoring and CRM | You build them | Built in: scored by your rules, sent as a signed webhook |
| Best for | Custom use cases and teams with engineers | Lead calling, phone screening and chat call-backs without a build |
Platform descriptions are general; check each vendor's current pricing page. Our side-by-side with one of them: Revvox vs Vapi.
Choosing one
What to check before you buy an AI voice agent.
Questions that separate a demo from a deployment.
Hear it in the language your callers actually speak. Many voice agents sound good in English and stiff in Hindi, Tamil or a Hindi-English mix. Ask for sample calls, then a test call to your own phone.
Ask what happens when nobody answers. A large share of outbound calls reach voicemail: in our own calling audit, 226 of 739 talked calls were machines. The agent should detect them, not pitch to them, and retry on a schedule you set.
Ask where the rules live. Calling hours, retry limits, consent and opt-out should be enforced in code before each dial, not left to a prompt. Ask how a "stop calling me" is recorded and honoured.
Ask for real numbers, dated. Ours come from 2,739 real calls to 993 people (19 to 22 Sep 2026) and 30,000+ calls for Offline by Happy Hour. A vendor who cannot show where its numbers come from is guessing.
Ask what it costs per outcome, not per minute. A per-minute price looks small until retries, voicemails and model bills are added. Price per lead or applicant with retries included is easier to compare with a person doing the same work.
Languages
14+ languages, including Hindi and Hinglish.
Set per campaign, per role or per agent.
Vira calls in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Arabic, Spanish, German and French. Each agent opens in the language you set for the campaign, and Hinglish, the Hindi-English mix most urban Indian callers speak, is supported alongside pure Hindi.
